Disney Fantasia: Music Evolved At MusiCares

Part of my gig as a Harmonix Product Manager involves traveling around the world to various events and showing off our latest projects. Just last week (GRAMMY week!), I had the opportunity to travel to LA for the prestigious MusiCares Person of the Year event.

This year’s MusiCares benefit gala dinner and concert was sponsored by several organizations, including Disney Interactive. The event provides great support for MusiCares, an organization that offers assistance for musicians in times of need, so I was especially thrilled that we were able to be a part of it.

The event kicked off with a reception and silent auction in the Los Angeles Convention Center’s West Hall where Disney Fantasia: Music Evolved was playable for attendees. Gameplay was projected on a large screen surrounded by stunning figures of notable Fantasia characters from the Disney archives. We gave event-goers a chance to test drive Performance gameplay, and everyone who participated walked away with a smile.

The reception was followed by a tribute concert honoring the great musician and philanthropist Carole King, which featured some of the brightest stars in music. There were incredible live performances by Lady Gaga, Alicia Keys, Gloria Estefan, P!nk, and more.

One of the highlights of my job is bringing Disney Fantasia: Music Evolved to events all over the world and showing off the development team’s hard work. We have a big year planned for the game, so be sure to stay tuned for the latest news and find out if we’ll be at an event near you!
