Harmonix's management team was the winner of the 2006 Game Developers "Maverick Award," which recognizes individuals "who exhibit independence in thought and action," and "who take risks by experimenting with unconventional methods."








Alex Rigopulos
Co-Founder, President and CEO
Prior to co-founding Harmonix in 1995, Alex earned his M.S. from the computer music group of the MIT Media Laboratory and his B.S. in music composition at MIT. Alex also previously worked as a design consultant to Yamaha Musical Instruments in Japan. At Harmonix, Alex manages the company's business affairs and also serves as an executive producer and game design contributor.


Eran Egozy
Co-Founder, Vice President of Engineering and CTO
Prior to co-founding Harmonix, Eran earned his B.S. and M.S. in electrical engineering at MIT and was a researcher in the computer music group at the MIT Media Laboratory. Eran also previously worked developing Web application development tools for Art Technology Group in Boston. At Harmonix, Eran manages the company's programming staff and also serves as both a senior programmer and game design contributor.


Mike Dornbrook
Executive Vice President and COO
Mike began his computer game industry career in 1979 with the inception of Infocom, where he started as the tester for Zork I. Subsequently he headed up Infocom's marketing through most of the 1980s, launching over forty Top-10 bestsellers, and he is particularly proud of championing The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and Leather Goddesses of Phobos. Before joining Harmonix in 1997, he was co-founder and president of Boffo Games, best known for The Space Bar. He has a B.S. from MIT and an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago. At Harmonix, Mike manages the company's finances, legal and administrative affairs, and all of the other boring stuff.


Greg LoPiccolo
Vice President of Product Development
After a decade-long stint as bassist/songwriter with Boston alternative rock pioneers Tribe, Greg signed on as audio/video director for PC game developer Looking Glass Studios, and he spent the next five years doing interactive scoring and game audio for such groundbreaking titles as System Shock, Flight Unlimited, and Terra Nova. He served as project director for Thief: The Dark Project (published by Eidos) before coming to Harmonix in 1998 to manage product development.


Florian Hunziker
Vice President of Business Development
Florian is responsible for managing Harmonix's new and existing
partnerships. Prior to joining Harmonix, Florian led Electronic Arts'
efforts to partner with independent developers in North America. He also
previously managed the West Coast private equity portfolio of BancBoston
Capital. A native of California, he earned a BS in Business
Administration from UC Berkeley and an MBA from Stanford University.
