Dance Central Fitness 2014 Kick Off

New year, new you! The post-holiday slump can leave us all feeling a bit aimless, lazy, and too full of food to even move. When it’s cold outside, the gym feels like forever away and getting bundled up to head outside is enough to kill anyone’s motivation.

The good news is, you don’t need to leave your house to get started on those fitness goals you made just before midnight on December 31st! Sorry to take away all your excuses, but with Dance Central just a button click away, there’s no reason you can’t get to work on boosting your activity levels for a happier, healthier year.

Previous years we’ve focused on Harmonixer’s fitness goals, but this year is all about you! We want to hear your goals, your struggles, and your success stories. Each week, alongside our tried and true Fitness Playlists Challenges, we’ll also have topics of discussion. This will give you a chance to share your experiences and lend support to other dancers just like yourself that are focusing on fitness for January and February.

So first things first, if you haven’t already, make a profile at the Dance Central forums and introduce yourself! While we’ll be posting and chatty on Twitter and Facebook, the forums are a great centralized spot to keep the discussion going.

Step two, fill in and print out the Fitness Contract and Fitness Goal Chart, below. Tape these up in your living room, your bedroom, your bathroom mirror, wherever it’ll motivate you most! Your goal can be anything from hitting a certain weight, losing an inch on your waistline, dancing a certain number of hours a week –whatever! Just make sure it’s obtainable in about eight weeks. Setting realistic goals is the first step to actually reaching those goals.
