Originally written and performed by Simon & Garfunkel, The Bangles recorded their own legendary cover of “Hazy Shade Of Winter” in 1987 for the Less Than Zero soundtrack. The track starts off with some synth layers and winter-evoking sleigh bells before kicking off into the ripping guitar riff and drum intro. The chorus features lots of great vocal harmonies and a great rising bassline at the end. “Hazy Shade of Winter” is the perfect track to rock out to in the holiday season.
Hailing from Melbourne, Australia (who are currently enjoying their warm summertime), singer-songwriter Vance Joy’s single “Missing Piece” has a lot of those quintessential summertime sounds and lyrics. The track features a muted acoustic guitar intro with a four-on-the-floor kick drum before Vance’s vocals enter followed by some fantastic harmonies, piano backing and snare drum rolls. The song eventually explodes into a massive chorus with even more amazing vocal layers and a bouncing bassline
