DLC Week of 3/14: Coldplay and Fall Out Boy!

Don’t touch that dial - big radio tunes from Rock Band vets Coldplay and Fall Out Boy arrive in Rock Band 4 this week!

“Paradise”, Coldplay’s iconic 2011 anthem, is a welcome addition to the Rock Band library. The second single released from their 5th album Mylo Xyloto, “Paradise” proved that Coldplay was a band on a mission. Their trademark blend of catchy melodies, intricate guitar parts, big orchestrations, and immaculate production thrust the song up the charts, peaking at #1 in the UK and on the U.S. Alternative charts. The international acclaim lauded onto “Paradise” would lead to numerous nominations for awards (including a win for Best Rock Video) and commercial success. It was the biggest selling rock song in the UK in 2011 and achieved Platinum status stateside. Vocals are the standout in this one – Chris Martin’s range will test seasoned vocalists and the chorus is a lot of fun to sing. Guitars will focus on underlying chords and bass drives the second half of the track.

Fall Out Boy’s “Uma Thurman” is the 11th song from the band to be included in the Rock Band library (dating back to the original Rock Band disc!). A highlight from their 2015 platinum album American Beauty/American Psycho, “Uma Thurman” seamlessly melds multiple genres into a song that struck an instant chord with fans and critics alike. The song went on to sell over 2 million singles and has become a mainstay in Fall Out Boy setlists over the past 4 years. Guitar has multiple challenges including the famous guitar riff and quick chord changes. Drums push the song along with numerous fills, breakdowns and claps.

Songs can be purchased individually for $1.99. The Rock Band Rivals Season 10 Spotlight Pass can be purchased for $14.99.
