DLC Week of 4/25: Halestorm, Sonata Arctica, and Suicide Silence!

Hard rock hits Rock Band 4 this week with Halestorm, Sonata Arctica, and Suicide Silence.

Starting us off is Halestorm’s “Do Not Disturb”,  the second great track from their album Vicious to join the Rock Band catalog (“Uncomfortable” being the first). Yet another top ten hit on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Tracks chart, “Do Not Disturb” continues Halestorm’s string of success. Vicious is the band’s most acclaimed album to date; no mean feat considering their past works. “Do Not Disturb” is a song with more of a groove than other Halestorm tracks you may know, so while it has great guitar riffs, the bass shines throughout the song. There’s a guitar solo later in the song if you REALLY need to show off. Vocals have more great harmonies from Lzzy Hale.
http://www.halestormrocks.com/ is the appropriately named location for tons of Halestorm info. Be sure to check out the music videos from Vicious, including "Do Not Disturb", and visit their merch shop to see some great new additions. If you think their studio work is good, make sure to see them on tour across the globe all summer - their live shows are worth it.

From Sonata Arctica’s sixth album The Days of Grays, “Flag in the Ground” is a great symphonic track by the Finnish band. The Days of Grays continued the band’s climb on the charts, marking their highest Billboard Heatseekers placement at the time. Bass has a lot of strumming when it’s not mirroring the guitarist, so use it to test your alt-strumming or build your stamina. Drummers get a lot of variety, but every pattern includes lots of bass pedal. Guitarists play a very tough solo that will call for lots of practice.

Suicide Silence rounds out the week with “Disengage”. The song became the second single from Suicide Silence’s second album No Time to Bleed. Their most acclaimed release, No Time to Bleed was also one of their strongest performances on the Billboard 200 chart, leading to a year-later rerelease. As you’d expect from a band named Suicide Silence, it’s a tough song. Guitarists will be playing near-constant chugging riffs, while drums hit hard and fast. Vocals are screaming, so it’s up to you how close you want to emulate the sound.

For the first two weeks of release, “Do Not Disturb” can be purchased individually for $1.49. Following that two week period, it can be purchased individually for $1.99. Songs can be purchased individually for $1.99. The Rock Band Rivals Season 11 Spotlight Pass can be purchased for $11.99.
