Dance Central fans never cease to amaze us with their talent and creativity! From YouTube to DeviantArt, you guys are expanding the Dance Central universe in the coolest ways! We got a chance to know Ying (or Meansary on Tumblr) a little better last week. This auditor from Malaysia started drawing Dance Central characters after she stumbled on a video of Kerith, one of her favorite characters, dancing to “Paparazzi” by Lady Gaga online.

I was surprised to hear visual art wasn't Ying's full time job. “I draw fanart solely as a hobby. I've been doing it on and off since college. Through drawing fanart I have met awesome people on [the] internet whom I would have been too afraid to talk to otherwise. I hope it continues to lead me into meeting people who share my interests."

Meansary's Tumblr account is full of amazing art! I asked her a little more about her relationships with the Dance Central characters. If she had to choose, Jaryn would probably be her best friend if she was also a character in the game. “As a typical Gemini, I believe we would get along REALLY well playing pranks on people.” Another thing she shares with the Giltterati twins is a birthday! Almost, that is! “I would have shared the birthday with my favorite crew The Glitterati had I been more patient and waited another day!"

She told me a little bit about how she started playing Dance Central: “A few days after watching a video on YouTube I went out to buy the console with the game, and the first day was a complete disaster. I was too eager to unlock The Glitterati and forgot I had weak knees, and the small room I've been renting didn't help either. I ended up going to bed with bruises and [a] sprained knee that night, with a single word in mind: more." She’s definitely come a long way since then!

Knowing how involved she is with Dance Central now, I was curious to ask what songs she loved the most in the game! She put together this Dance Central playlist for us:

Before the end of our conversation, Ying had a message for Dance Central developers, “Big thanks for this awesome series! It went as far as changing my music and gaming tastes as well as my lifestyle. Loved many other games I bought after learning about Harmonix through Dance Central (Rock Band 3, Disney Fantasia: Music Evolved, Amplitude, A City Sleeps & etc) and looking forward to more from you guys!"
