No it IS Rock Band!
After seven straight weeks of poking fun at grumpy commenters and getting creative with rhyming puns, we thought it was time to go back to the classics. This week’s challenge is dedicated to the “rock” in Rock Band and the DLC release supports that dedication to a tee.
The 1984 anthem for disobeying American traffic laws, Sammy Hagar’s “I Can’t Drive 55” was the lead single and intro track to his album VOA. Featuring a massive power chord guitar part with some fun solo sections, a fast hi-hat drum groove with the classic massive 80s drum sound, and Sammy Hagar’s iconic vocal delivery of the world-famous chorus line. This track is a great pickup for rockers young and old.
Also originally from 1984 comes the legendary “Rock You Like A Hurricane” by German rock quintet Scorpions. “Rock You Like A Hurricane” was the lead single for their ninth studio album Love at First Sting and was then re-recorded in 2011 for their album Comeblack. This jam starts with an instantly recognizable guitar riff, a shredding solo and a chorus your whole house will sing along to.
