DLC Week of 5/19: Icon For Hire and St. Vincent

Break Week 1

Kicking off the new DLC this week is “Ready for Combat” from Icon For Hire. Formed in 2007 by Illinois natives Ariel Bloomer and Shawn Jump, the band earned their stripes by constantly touring and, in 2009, were signed to their first record deal. Last year the band released their fourth album, Amorphous, which blurred the boundaries between hard rock and synth music and was well received by their rabid fanbase. Their latest single, “Ready for Combat”, is a fusion of styles that will challenge vocalists to keep up with Bloomer’s flowing lyrics. Guitarists looking for heavy, shredding riffs need look no further - “Ready for Combat” is a speaker-shaking song you’ll want to add to your library.

We’re excited to add St. Vincent “Down” to the DLC store this week. From her sixth studio album, Daddy’s Home, “Down” incorporates a psychedelic, pseudo-lounge sound that was heavily inspired by the sounds of 1970’s New York. In April 2022, Daddy’s Home, took home the Grammy award for Best Alternative Music Album, her second Grammy win in that category (and 3rd Grammy overall!). The syncopated rhythms will keep drummers focused throughout the song while the funky melodies and soaring vocals make “Down” a great pick for your next party setlist.

Get all of your St. Vincent info at www.ilovestvincent.com. You’ll find links to hear Daddy’s Home (featuring “Down”), shop a wide range of merch and track the dates for her upcoming world tour kicking off in June.

Both of these awesome tracks are included in the Season 26 Season Pass. Pick it up today and save big on the entire season of DLC.

Icon For Hire “Ready for Combat” and St. Vincent “Down” are available for $1.99 each.
