Rock Band 4 at E3 2016

Hi Gang,

We’re back from lovely Los Angeles with another E3 under our belts. We were set up in the PDP booth this year, with a giant Rock Band stage in the West Hall.

The lines were long and the enthusiasm was palpable – our demo kit was loaded up with tons of DLC and we saw some epic performances from the Rock Band faithful.

Playing Rock Band on a full stage with a loud PA and full stage lighting is AWESOME, well worth the wait in line.

Fender Jaguar guitar controller from PDP

This E3 was the debut for the new Fender Jaguar controllers from PDP and they met the test with flying colors – PDP has done an amazing job with these new controllers. They are beautiful, super high performance, and we couldn’t be more excited to introduce a new Fender guitar controller to the mix.

PDP also had a bunch of other great product on display, including their new Guitar Charger. They have a great line up of accessories, including the Xbox 360 Wired Adapter for Xbox One which will support your ION Drum Rocker kits. We definitely hit the ground running with our new hardware partner and co-publisher.

A few other highlights:

  • We announced the name of our Expansion Pack (Rivals!) along with our new super sleek look. I know Rock Band nation has tons of questions about what’s actually in the Rivals Expansion – we are looking to reveal those details in a few weeks.
  • We launched our Snapchat channel at the show – if you haven’t subscribed, do it! It’ll offer a ton of fun behind-the-scenes looks into how we do what we do.
  • We had Harmonix Music VR up in the Sony Booth – this is another one that you owe it to yourself to check it out. It’s different from anything we’ve done before and a really intriguing product for the Sony VR system. Check out Jon Carter's blog post on HMVR at E3 in the blog.

E3 is always a really fun show. While our focus is on Rock Band, we also get to see what our friends in the industry are up to. Lots of exciting news, in both the hardware and software categories - 2016 is gonna be a great year for video games in general. We’re happy to be along for the ride!
