Disney Fantasia: Music Evolved E3 Recap

The Fantasia team at Harmonix flew out to sunny Los Angeles last week to show off Disney Fantasia: Music Evolved! It was a really exciting week for us as we watched attendees perform amazing remixes over the course of the show.

THE PRESS CONFERENCE

On Monday, June 9, Harmonix co-founder Alex Rigopulos took the stage at the Microsoft press conference where he discussed the innovative work we’ve brought to Kinect over the years. Alex also mentioned how excited we are to bring new experiences to the motion platform this year, including Disney Fantasia: Music Evolved and the newly announced Dance Central Spotlight.

THE SHOW FLOOR

The rest of E3 was largely spent on the bustling show floor. Fantasia had kiosks at the Microsoft and Disney Interactive booths. Attendees had the opportunity to perform through tracks in our soundtrack. Press in attendance also had the chance to explore our recently revealed realm, The Neighborhood. It was fantastic watching reactions over the course of the week. We look forward to get the game out to the rest of the world on October 21, 2014!

THE EXHIBIT

Fantasia wasn’t only featured on the show floor. The art of Harmonix artist Jamie McKiernan was prominently featured in the prestigious Into The Pixel exhibit at E3. The gorgeous piece inspired by The Hollow realm in the game was on display for attendees to see. We are so proud of Jamie!

THE LIVE SHOW

On Wednesday night of E3, Disney Fantasia: Music Evolved had a special segment during Video Games Live at Club Nokia. During our portion of the show, a live orchestra conducted by composer Inon Zur (he created original compositions for the game) played a medley of original songs from the game. The live orchestra also helped us reveal a new track on our soundtrack with an orchestral performance of “Radioactive” by Imagine Dragons. Being included in the show was truly an honor.

The team at Harmonix is psyched about what we’ve created and we look forward to sharing more news with you soon. We're planning to get Disney Fantasia: Music Evolved in front of fans at upcoming events over the summer. Stay tuned!
